Board Meetings...Bored Meetings?

2/18/2008

I just got back last night from a weekend of Board Meetings.  While a lot of people refer to them as "Bored" Meetings, I think I actually enjoy seeing the nuts and bolts of a ministry.  Granted, a lot of times those nuts and bolts aren't pretty: EVERY ministry is made up of people...which means no ministry is perfect (or even close).  I sat in on the "Visioning" portion of the Amundsen Educational Center board meeting for about 3 hours...it was very interesting.  AEC has a lot of potential for growth...it will be cool to see how AEC grows in the next five years.  I also was at the board meetings for Covenant Bible Camp in Unalakleet.  I'm the secretary of that board...it's my first time being on a board, and first time being a secretary...so it's stretching, but it's good to be stretched, right?  In any case, it's good to come back to everyday life too.

Goodbye cold, Hello early mornings!

*Yawn* Bummer!  I had to be at breakfast and devotions at 6:45am again today.  Last week we started at 9am instead because the temperature outside all week was between -20 and -30.  Because of the cold, the AEC boys couldn't do too much work early in the day.  (The AEC House of Hope '08 still doesn't have heat inside...so the temperature outside is the temperature inside still...sometimes even a little colder).  Oh well, the break was nice while it lasted.  It is nice to have warmer temperatures outside though.  I better go to bed early tonight to get back into the early morning schedule!
