We're back! For a little while anyway...

Well...about 2 weeks, 2 showers, and 25 mosquito bites after my last post...we made it back to our own beds after 2 awesome weeks of Bible Camp.  Just in case you were wondering, 25 bites is a very low #.  Four years ago I got over 150!  Thanks to my parents for getting me some Buzz Off (built in mosquito repellent) clothing this year...it worked really well!  I'll report more about Camp later...I need to go to lunch.

Also, I preached in my church on Sunday...please feel free to check it out on my church's website: http://kenaicalvary.org.

Or just click here to listen to it.

Bible Camp, here we come!

I can't believe that I'm heading out to Bible Camp in Unalakleet tomorrow.  It doesn't feel like I'm ready yet to go.  I still have a lot to do before I go, but I'm getting excited!  I'll be speaking next week to 5th and 6th graders, and the week after I'll be the recreation leader.  With no flush toilets, showers, or electricity, if you've never been to Bible Camp before, you probably wouldn't think that it would be fun...but it is!  Yeah, there might be 1,000,000,000 mosquitos, but seeing God work is well worth it.  There are also fish to be caught, canoes to be rowed, worship to be sung, games to be played, and friends to be made.  The Camp slogan is "A natural place to meet with a supernatural God."  That pretty much says it all.  Please keep Shirleen and me in your prayers as we are out in the Bush!  Thanks!

Besides Space Camp, I also was working at CSI (a New Frontier program) all week.  I set up all of the CSI website, which was a pretty big job.  Feel free to check it out. www.csicareerskillsinstitute.com

Space Camp

All this week I've been making a little extra money for our living expenses by being a space camp counselor at the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska.  I go to camp at 4:45pm and come back at 8:45am...yes, that would be overnight.  It's been...challenging, but pretty good.  The kids this week are a hand-full.  I've also been teaching at New Frontier about professional computer etiquette, especially how to blog formally.  So...I've been very busy!  But it will be good to have some extra cash.  With it, Shirleen and I plan on doing some home repair.  Which reminds me...I need to post some pictures of our house.  Maybe next time!
