Boy, raising support is hard work! Or more like it's hard to trust that God will provide. Just being honest. I often feel like I know in my heart that God will take care of us, but sometimes my head doesn't get it...it's so easy to worry! So far while we've been living down here living off of my 100% support raised position, God truly has provided. We have all we need, and most of what we want...somehow God has made our ends meet! It's been a growing time for Shirleen and I as we continue to learn daily how to trust God even more.
We have truly been humbled by others' giving and support of us. Our 2 biggest gifts have been from fellow ministers/missionaries here in Alaska. Our 4th biggest gift has been from a couple that are still in Bible school and are not rich by any means. It sure is crazy to see God work!
On that note: I updated our donation system...now anyone can support us online by credit card, bank account, or PayPal. They can even set up automatic monthly donations! Anyone can check it out by simply clicking on the "Donate" tab up top.

Shirleen and I are in Atqasuk right now...we're on a recruiting trip. So far it's been good. We talked in a church on Sunday in Barrow and did a presentation at the school in Nuiqsut yesterday. We've had pretty good response to our recruiting efforts...but we'll see who really shows up in August. We'll speak in the school here tomorrow and then we'll fly to Wainwright and speak in the school there. We hope to have a youth night in at least on of the places we visit...we even brought some pizzas with that purpose. It sure is nice having Shirleen with me on this trip...recruiting can be a lonely thing, and it's good to share it with someone. So far we have flown in 5 different airplanes and have 5 more to go...so I guess this is like the middle of our trip. Anyways, we're on slow internet here, so I'll update some more when we get back next week. Whoa! The last two weeks of my life have flown by! Sorry I didn't get a chance to update what's been going on in my life. Shirleen and I have been doing a lot of traveling and not being home lately. We both attended a Mentoring Seminar in Anchorage, and went to a college-age retreat in Big Lake (I spoke for one session...which was fun...I felt a bit rusty though...it had been a while since I gave a message). Also, this past week (and weekend) the Evangelical Covenant Church of Alaska had their annual meeting down here in Soldotna, so we were there most days and nights. I've learned a lot in the past two weeks, and I'd love to share it with you...but not right now...perhaps I'll update you in a day or two. |
