Where has our summer gone?

8/29/2013

As I look out our window, I see how the tundra is changing its color.  Berries are falling on the ground.  The silver salmon are turning red.  Well, I can't see the berries falling or the salmon changing its color, but that is what comes to my mind knowing summer will soon end.

Thomas has started his second year of preschool.  We miss him while he is gone.  He is learning so much and we continue to pray with him, telling him that he is a light to his classmates.  He is a joy to be around.

Talia and Toby and I rode, walked to the post office today and boy was it cold.

Al summer we had house guests.  We are so blessed to have the home we do, and we are happy to use it for God's glory.

My sister had a baby in June!  I was so blessed to meet Baby Naomi just 15 mins after she was born!  She is already growing so much.  We were also blessed to go down to Colorado, do some fundraising and spend time with family.  It makes my heart sad because the kids miss all of their cousins.

Please be praying for us as we start up Children's Church again this fall.  One of my best friends used to plan and lead Children's Church; God has called her and her family somewhere else in Alaska.  So, I am trying to get used to her being gone, and taking on this new responsibility.  I know when my friend did it, I was very blessed by it, I pray that we will be a blessing to those who will be involved.
