Out-ie

11/10/2008

Right in front of my own eyes I went from being an in-ie to an out-ie.  Last night I noticed that my belly button is transforming.  It is amazing how our body changes during pregnancy.  God is definitely an awesome artist.

Today, before the students left to go home one of them asked if I was pregnant.  I heard from across the room, "Mrs. London is pregnant.  Pass it on."  One girl didn't know what pregnant meant at first.  One boy explained, "Baby in the belly.  Fat."  Oh, how I love my students.

Above is a picture of one of the artists in my classroom.  Last week, I gave a lesson on the Six Traits plus One.  My second graders were given clay and were told to make something in 15 minutes.  Later I connected clay sculpting to the writing process of revising, removing and editting.  The first graders keep asking me when am I going to do the lesson with them. :)

When you think of me this week, please keep me in prayers.  This is the first week that I will be giving full responsibility for the class.  My mentor teacher is heading to a conference, leaving me in the classroom with the students.  I want to make sure that I am patient with all the students and get proper rest as the baby continues to grow inside of me.
